we took a trip to kansas city so devin could run in a relay marathon with some friends. Devin had the first leg of the race starting at 7am. Hughie and I waited anxiously in the dark for him to arrive at the first exchange station.

We kept our eyes peeled so that we could see devin victoriously run up the steep hill...and with much regret completely missed him amongst the herd of runners. :(
After his leg of the race we walked back to the Crown Center to get some breakfast and hang out inside where it was warm. Hugh ended up taking a nap in the stroller (late night/early morning) while we waited for the our other friends to finish the race. This was the first marathon i have ever watched and it was so inspiring. It was pretty amazing to watch people cross the finish line after completing a marathon... it will make you cry.

here is the marathon relay team

That night we wanted some good Kansas City BBQ so we got a referral to go to Oklahoma Joe's. We heard "it was the best."

Let me just say...it was connected to a gas station. On one side you could pay for gas and on the other get some good tasting BBQ! At any time on a friday or saturday there is a 30 min line and the place is packed. We were not disappointed. It was so good.

i don't even like eating ribs because they are messy and i don't particularly like ripping meat off of bone.... but these ribs made me change my mind!

I found out my hilarious cousin, Trent, and his sweet wife, Lindsay, that i haven't seen forever live in Kansas City! We arranged to go to church with his family and then hang out after. We had a yummy lunch at their house and were able to catch up. So good to connect with family!

How fun you got to see Trent and his family. I don't think you told me that. That kid is hilarious!

If you ever go to kansas city again you need to go to Aurthor bryants-it was AMAZING! it is crazy how good bbq can be. I agree with you about marathons. I went to watch a friend down in st. george and found myself tearing up multiple times.

Oklahoma Joes! We have been there! Super Yummy a little terrifying parking the car and leaving it there, but good food!

Looks so fun. Hughie is to die for cute. How are you feeling? We're nearing the home stretch, but it still seems like forever, doesn't it? You still look tiny. Cutest pregnant girl ever.
