The zoo had this slightly bizarre, yet FUN attraction where scuba santa and his elves took a dive in the shark tank.... Hughie had a blast watching "sasa claus" & "miss claus" and all the elves swimming with the sting rays, turtles, & sharks all while downing an entire candy cane.
We are trying to keep Christmas ALIVE here in the midwest since we are spending Christmas with just our little family of 3 (soon to be 4) while we wait for baby girl to come. It wouldn't be Christmas without caramel pretzels, my favorite treat from the Matsumori bake-off, so I made my first attempt at making them solo. It was a lengthly process and it was a good thing it is freezing outside to aid in helping the caramel and chocolate set... but they turned out scrumdimiliumptious! I handed some out in baggies at church and then saved a stash for us...
We went with our friends who are also staying here for christmas (our neighborhood is a ghost town right now) to get Korean food last night. It is rare to find friends who also share your love for spicy, fermented cabbage :)

It is a ghost town around here. All those lucky non pregnant people that get to travel! Anyways, never surprised by what the Zoo has to offer!
